A Destination Thailand Visa application is not one universal checklist. The broad DTV framework is national, while the mission reviewing your file can add presentation, translation, residence and processing requirements. EU/EEA applicants should start with the responsible mission, then build evidence for the relevant route.

Important

Mission requirements can change. Confirm the responsible mission and live official guidance immediately before submission and payment.

The national baseline

Official Thai material describes DTV routes for remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers, qualifying Thai soft-power activities and dependants. The visa framework includes financial evidence of at least THB 500,000 and stays of up to 180 days per entry, but the final evidence set depends on the route and mission.

What changed in 2026

Official Thai missions announced that applications submitted from 31 August 2026 require proof of permanent residence for the country where the application is filed, plus criminal record clearance. Do not substitute a tourist entry, hotel booking or ordinary proof of current location without confirming that the responsible mission accepts it.

A practical order

Confirm the mission first. Then gather identity, recent photograph, permanent-residence evidence, criminal record clearance, financial evidence and purpose-specific documents. Remote employees normally need evidence of foreign employment and remote work; freelancers need a coherent portfolio, client and business trail; soft-power applicants need evidence from the relevant Thai provider or institution.

Before paying

Recheck the mission page and the official e-Visa portal immediately before submission. Confirm file format, size, translation, naming and processing guidance. Treat a checklist as preparation guidance, not an approval prediction.
